Warren Zaïre-Emery, a 17-year-old midfielder for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) , started a visit to Rwanda for two days as it is included in the PSG’s partnership with Visit Rwanda. This young football star holds the record for being PSG’s youngest goal scorer and represents the new generation of players in the French Ligue 1 competition as well.
Zaïre-Emery recently earned a spot in the senior France National Team and he’s now visiting Rwanda, indeed following the footsteps of PSG legends and teammates who also explored the country through the partnership. This PSG Academy player will interact with other PSG Academy players in Rwanda and they will altogether take a tour of the Northern Province to discover the country’s abundant, rich, natural and cultural history and even includes a gorilla walk and a boat ride on the Kivu Queen Uburanga on a lake.
Zaïre-Emery during his visit expressed his happiness to represent PSG and promote Rwanda by saying, “As a player who came up from the PSG Elite Youth Academy, I am delighted to be able to meet the young players of the PSG Academy in Rwanda.”
Visit Rwanda is a Premium Partner of PSG since 2019 that aims to use the partnership to showcase Rwanda as a leading tourism and investment destination in Africa. This collaboration also focuses on cultural and artistic synergies, promoting tea and coffee and football development among others. PSG and Visit Rwanda inaugurated the PSG Academy in Huye in 2021. In addition, the academy has already achieved success by winning the PSG Academy World Cup in 2023.
This visit by Zaïre-Emery is also seen as another milestone in the strong partnership between PSG and Visit Rwanda that contributes to the promotion of Rwanda’s unparalleled beauty, hospitality and national heritage.
