Nigerian musician Divine Ikubor, known widely as Rema, stunned the iconic O2 Arena in London with his incredible display at the “Ravage Uprising” concert on November 14, 2023.

The sold out show of  over 20,000 people that include Nigerian celebrities and fans that arrived from across continents just to witness a night that showcased the energy, richness, and global appeal of Afrobeats.

Rema’s spectacular entrance galvanized the audience for an amazing evening, as he began the performance on top of a stationary horse adorned with a mask and black  costume. Viewers were captivated as his shocking appearance bounced vivaciously between a musical rendition of “Iron Man,” backed by fascinating Indian choreography staged in synchronization on each side.

The acclaimed performer behind “Calm Down” treated spectators to an array of hits that topped charts worldwide, including “Dirty,” “Ginger Me,” “Addicted,” “Why,” “Dimension,” “Soundgasm,” “Fame,” “HOV,” “Trouble Maker,” “Lady,” “Don’t Leave,” “Dumebi,” “Bounce,” and “Charm.”

A striking moment of the night ensued when Rema brought fellow Mavin Records signees Ayra Starr, Crayon, and Magixx on stage for a captivating rendition of “Won Da Mo” that left the crowd invigorated.

 Rema took a moment to show Burna Boy some love for the inspiration and support. At the O2 Arena, Rema spoke about the significance of Burna Boy inviting him on stage at the O2 Arena two years ago. From Burna Boy to Rema, their rise to the O2 stage is a testament to the camaraderie and mutual respect that fuels the Afrobeats community.

The night ended with Rema performing “Calm Down,” which drew a YouTube  live stream of over 38,000 viewers. After the O2 Arena, it’s safe to say that Rema deserves his global Afrobeats sensation status is high along with Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido, not to mention Asake, who all previously performed at the vaunted venue.
